Oh, I guess I should have seen it was over, by the fire that was in the skies, and I probably really should have been sober, but it was the quickest way to eat the lies. So I laugh as I choke and am bleeding, as the knife twists in my side. It’s just the words and their speakers that are fleeting, and memories they all subside. I guess I should have seen it was over, but the coins had already covered my eyes.

Beautiful. Hopeless.
I keep waiting for you to write more....
I keep thinking I have ideas, but then they escape me...
I just discovered your blog--your words are haunting, by turn lovely and absolutely despairing. Do you write music too or just poems that would make beautiful songs?
Thank you, so much for saying so Ev Bishop. I'm glad you discovered my little corner of cyberspace.
To best answer your question, I can't really say that I write music, because I've been very lackadaisical when it comes to teaching myself how to read standard music notation. (It's on the list of things I'd like to accomplish someday, but then, so is a lot of other things...)
I do, however, often think of many of my poems as lyrics. In fact, to my own mind, the two words are almost always interchangeable as I find poetry and music to be very closely related.
Sometimes, I come up with ideas for lyrics or poems simply by playing guitar and attempting to sing the words that come to mind, but most of the material I post on this blog I write as poems first. Sometimes, thinking I might like to add music to it later, and sometimes not.
Hope that answered your question. :-P
